I didn't post for a WHOLE DAY. I can't believe it either. I'm sure your friends pages were delighted. ;)
It's been a rather busy weekend.
Friday: Work, then party at a friend's house. Got back at "decent" hour and slept.
Saturday: Slept until 11:00. Lunch, homework, then the whole family went to a friend's graduation party, then to my cousin's graduation (thankfully only an hour and half long). Then I went to a friend from college's party in Minneapolis. Got back at 1:30, slept.
Sunday: Church at 10, lunch, "homework" (nothing I care to respond to online, so I guess I'll just read...?)/internety goodness, leave at 2:30 for cousin's graduation party which will end at an undetermined time later this evening. May or may not make it to the wildlife center tonight - depends on party end time, Emily awakeness, and parental units.
And then tomorrow is work. Again. Rinse, repeat. This seems like a rather dull summer. It's not really, because I have been hanging out with friends (*pokes Sara* Email me!), have work, homework, and various other things to do or that need doing. I think it's just the working full time thing that makes life feel like it's the same thing over and over again. This reminds me (for some reason) that I need to find a piece for auditions in September for the new chamber orchestra St Kate's has. Auditioning seems silly since Jim knows all of us, but it says on the flyer that auditions are September 11th, so I suppose I should start on something now.
Various things:
1. I might as well give in and accept that all my clothes are going to have some sort of fur stuck to/woven into/on them. Between Kepler, Shippo, Elsie, Jay, the bio prof's dogs, and soon Blue (or whatever his name ends up being), there's just going to be fur on my clothes. I pulled a shirt that I haven't worn in a month or so out of my closet this morning, and there were little white hairs all over it. Gerbil fur.
2. Speaking of shirts, my brother and I are wearing the same shirt today - a blue polo shirt. Well, almost the same, because mine is navy blue and his is just blue. But still. I would have changed, except I didn't really have anything else that would work for church and that was clean and ironed, so I put a sweatshirt on and hoped no one would notice.
3. Doug said he watched me in his mirror during church, and that I looked like church was the last place I wanted to be this morning. Yeah, pretty much. It was too long, too boring, the music was weird, and we were squished in a pew with a bunch of other people because mom didn't want to sit in the completely empty pew because it was closer to the air vent and she was cold. (My talking-to-Doug time got cut short because my mother wanted to leave. 'Cause, you know, if they want to stand around and chat with friends forever after church, that's okay, but if I do and they don't ('cause their friend(s) weren't there), that doesn't matter, because we do whatever mother wants.)
4. Coffee Blak sounds disgusting. Coffee + coke? That just is wrong. And waaay too much caffeine.
5. There keeps being pop everywhere I go. I don't really want to drink it, but it seems to be the only thing, and so I do. Same with cookies. Mom made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies on Friday 'cause Brian is done with school, and I ate three that night. And two yesterday. And two today. At least they have oatmeal in them.
6. This interpersonal communications class is a bit overwhelming. I feel very behind, but I'm not, I don't think. I just haven't finished reading last weeks chapters because I only got my book yesterday. I"m caught up on the discussion board, and I sent in my paper that was from last Monday. Must write a paper this week too. Have a psych quiz due at the end of the week, but I don't think it will be too bad.
7. I am still incredibly tired. I know, I know, I was out "partying" for two nights in a row. But I've been tired all week and have been getting a decent amount of sleep. Blah.
8. I don't know how people go out partying every night. I don't drink (underage + react badly to caffeine and don't care to find out what alcohol does = no thank you), but I'm still exhausted. Both nights were fun, but I don't think I'll do that on a regular basis. I must be getting old.
9. Parties where someone can sign to you to keep you up to speed on the conversation rock. My eyes started to cross last night, trying to keep up.
10. I got to pet and hold a one-eyed chinchilla last night. SO SOFT. And pretty. And added to my list of future pets to get. :D (But perhaps one with two eyes.)
11. I finally synced my PDA. It's only been, what, six months? :o
12. Kepler's calmed down since we moved back here for the summer. I think the janitors must have been messing around with him last year. Not sure how to solve that problem next year.
Off to the cousin's house. Textbooks are coming along, of course.
