Lessons of the Afternoon (and Morning)

Jun 17, 2011 16:37

1) Any Friday that includes a conference call will likely see me leaving the office a bit later than usual. Not necessarily "late", but later. Take this into account when planning errands.

2) Failure to write things down will result in wasted time. Today did NOT add points to my Pepper Potts credentials.

3) Not all failures are bad. Today's failure to write down the address of the countertop/cabinetry supplier I wanted to visit resulted in at home/online research that may have proven very positive. (We'll see tomorrow.)

4) Giving in to occasional cravings is good for the soul. (Mmmm...Peet's chai and salted dark chocolate caramels.)

5) My boss and I have very different views on traveling to professional conferences. I'm all for learning new things and brushing up my skills - hell, it's required if I want to stay licensed and employed - but work travel (emphatically) =! vacation. Yes, I do have tentative plans for a fun evening while I'm out of town next week, but my vacation will be in August...

6) Red Smoke Grill is always a tasty place to eat.
