[There's a somewhat sleepy voice as Glaukir finally turns on his comm.]

Uh, hello? I can hear that there are other captives on board and--

[A thought occurs to him.]

Leo. If you think you can get away with this, you have another thing coming.

I'm Father Glaukir Khidamun. Who am I speaking to?

It's then he hears words replay in his mind. He remembers this exact voice telling him that there was no such thing as losing someone, that there was only a temporary parting of ways.]

...Kir...

[Okay, Glaukir never expected to hear his nickname. He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.]

Yes?

[Remy breathes deeply trying to keep himself and his voice calm.]

Do you know where you are?

[kaikou_tide]

On a ship, apparently. I don't remember booking a cruise. Are you one of my captors? This is an act of war, by the way, since I'm a public official.

[A rustling of fabric as he pulls aside the blinds.]

... majestic view, though.

[He could see. Remy was elated for a brief moment at the thought.

But then he remembered that it was Glaukir. He was new again. He didn't know where he was. He didn't know who Remy was. Remy thought for a moment to play as if he didn't know who the priest was either, but knew his words had already given that away.]

I-I'm not. I'm a passenger as well. You were brought here by the Captain...you're not in your world anymore.

[kaikou_tide]

My world? What do you mean?

[For all their technological advances, Glaukir's world has pretty much ignored spaceflight entirely. There are a few high-flying jets, but they haven't visited their own moon yet.]

We're all from different worlds. We were brought to this ship and we're headed to a place called the Golden Shore. That's all we know.

[Remy considered it common courtesy to refrain from letting new arrivals know their world is gone.]

I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't understand. Different worlds? Do you mean like the world of the living and the dead?

[Glaukir has started puttering around his quarters, his bare feet padding on the carpet.]

I didn't quite catch your name, mister...?

No, I mean...like...where I'm from is completely different from where you are. It's hard to explain.

[Remy hears him move around and wonders if he's in the same room as before.]

I'm...my name's Remy.

[kaikou_tide]

Remy. It's nice to meet you, Remy, though I wish it were under better circumstances.

[Glaukir runs his hand down the mirror and inspects his stubble. Either whoever it was who captured him shaved him while he was passed out, or they moved him remarkably quickly into this boat. Not much time has passed.]

I wish it were as well, Kir.

[He winced again as he used Glaukir's nickname. He was trying to avoid it, but he was so used to calling him by it that it just tumbled out.]

If you get to deck 12, there's clothes. Food's in various locations. The sushi on deck 8 is really good.

Not at all. You're free to go around the ship as you will. The crew tend to be helpful and will get you anything you need. Everything's free, even the alcohol. You'll love the selection.
