Link Love + More

Starting with Link Love because I can and it's the fun part.

Chicken Tikka Masala, by Pastor Ryan - The Pioneer Woman Cooks. I'll admit it, the fact that I have a massive soft spot for this woman's blog is adding to me sharing this. But then again it is Tikka Masala. I would love to make this for Penta but with his new eating restrictions and the amount of Heavy Cream in the recipe means sadly I can not.

Clean Water Robot
- Squishable.com. Speaking for Penta, if I had the money I would totally get this for him. It would make a great "I luvs you!" gift or Christmas Gift, or belated b-day gift. Sadly I have money. Perhaps it will be inspiration for a sewing project for me.

Food Synergy List - Men's Health via Lifehacker. This is just cool. Plus food tastes even better when you mix it with other food.

All Current Wildfires
- BC Wildfires. Mostly here for me and my paranoid belief that BC will burn this year (can I ask to be proven wrong on this one?). Still it is good to keep up on this. BC is full of dry, dead trees waiting to burn and we are already breaking records heat wise.

Here to save flists and the fact that now all may want to read it.

This past month at work as been interesting to say the least. STC is trying to get me to work on my EPKs (training) that my old store never had me do (short story: I was never trained properly). I understand his reasoning on wanting me to do. It looks bad for the store to have an associate who hasn't done them, it makes his job easier, it also shows the company how serous I am about wanting to be promoted. But he also understands me sitting there going, "Um... for the core ones that my old store was SUPPOSED to get me to do, had I done them there I would of been paid to do them. If I do them here on my own time, I DON'T GET PAID FOR IT since it was supposed to be part of training and I am no longer in training." I'm sorry, but money is insanely tight for Penta and I.

That being said doing the EPKs does put me in a better position for promotion.....

I really do like my job. As crazy and sanity crushing as it is, it is fun, fast paced and for the most part makes me happy. I love the fact that I am able to help people and I can still be as geeky and strange as I want to be. Sure co-workers will give me weird looks but I can still be me. This is a huge thing for me.

Then again I started looking as Web Development/Design jobs again. The starting wage of $15/hour is really appealing.  It is one of the reasons why I have starting working on my portfolio again.  Even if I can get on somewhere part-time or do the odd website on the side it is still something.  The problem I am having right now though, is that I suck at design.  May-be it's because it's something that I have never been taught how to do.  May-be it's because it's something I'm just bad at doing.  I don't know.

Still I miss coding and I miss doing work on sites.
