It's kind of odd to hear people talk about Harlan Ellison like he's, oh, I don't know, famous or something when I grew up just hearing Jill Bauman talk about her old friend Harlan and had no idea people knew who the guy was until my late teens.
(Also: My father swears up and down he's one of the few people who's managed to have a substantial conversation with Mr. Ellison without being insulted.)
