i love my roomies
So, there was an impromtu roommate dinner last night which was a lot of fun. Kellie had just run the Boston half marathon, i made pork chops with these great potatoes, and Genevieve and Claudia had invited somebody over for pizza. They were eating pizza and i had just finished my dinner so i sat down with them and ate some ice cream and talked. Then Kellie came down and we were all talking and it was really funny. Claudia refuses to have pesto on her pizza because she insists that it doesn't taste right (it's because she's italian). In the words of Claudia, "On this, i cannot compromise." Also, she was trying to google clams to see what they looked like to see if she liked them and wanted them on the pizza. She googled "clums" because that's the way she thinks it's pronounced. I don't think we're going to ever let her live that down.
Today, was our planned roomie dinner. It was SO MUCH fun. I made fried plantains, Genevieve bought wine, Claudia cooked eggplant linguine, and Kellie provided the pumpkin pie and homemade maple whipped cream. It was all soooo good. We also had three other people there so it was kind of an extended roomie dinner but we all got along great. They actually finished off 5 bottles of wine between 7 people. I was kinda impressed. Since i've been here having these dinners, i've been trying and eating all these new things. Like wine. I had a glass of red wine. It didn't taste so great, but i drank i sipped it through dinner and felt like a grown up. I've also had lemoncello, Mirto, and plum wine all of which i really like and all of which Claudia has provided. Those wines are really good. I also ate the pumpkin pie. That was out of character for me, but i really liked it. I was surprised.
After the other 3 people left, it was just the 4 roommates chatting and we had so much fun teasing Claudia and teasing Genevieve. We talked about the horrors of our landlord and the funny things that happened to all four of us when we tried to get this apartment and how we all almost didn't get it. Crazy coincidences.
I also bought a winter jacket. All my roommates approve.
I'm so glad that i live in this house with these people who are all really fun and awesome.
Oh, and it was 48 degrees the other night. That's what my fall is like. It's awesome.
