So yesterday there was the infamous blackout that was caused by good old fashioned "major transmission line failure" instead of say, a hurricane. That was random. It's gotta be a first for me. A non-natural disaster power outage. So yeah, I was in the middle of lab and we were totally raring to go and do this lab and get it over with when the power just goes out. Weirdly enough, everyone in the lab just sort of ignored the lack of light and kept going on with their experiments. I pulled out my flashlight and set it up and we kept going. About 15 minutes later of no light our TA goes, "well...I'm gonna have to cancel lab since...we can't see...anything." There was an audible sigh of despair because we had all our stuff set up, but whatever. I got out early. 3 million people up to Tampa and down to the Keys without power. Who knew?
Oh, and I read a Dr. Seuss book the other day. Is it just me or have Dr. Seuss books lost their ingenuity since Dr. Seuss died? What happened to good old creative classics like How the Grinch stole Christmas and Horton Hears a Who? (which I want to see)
