We just finished a new build-out here at work, and much to my delight it included a shower in one of the restrooms. I decided it would be a great time to get back into my old running schedule. Today I brought my clothes and toiletries, and was pleased that Dustin (who, if I haven't mentioned him previously, is my co-worker and de-facto "lead" here ( Read more... )

Where you working now? And I've been contemplating getting a GPS to keep up with biking trips. Having done no research myself, what would you recommend for portability?

Griffin Technology. Small company (~100 employees) and I'm IT guy #3.

As for GPS, I have a Garmin GPS V which is old and bulky, but I'm wanting to pick up a Garmin Forerunner 301. They have newer models, but they are bulkier and pricier.

Ah cool, they're the ones that make all the Ipod stuff. I thought that was neat when I found out they are based in Nashville. This lady there bought some Deftones tickets off me a few months ago, when I saw the address on Airpark I was surprised.

So if I wanna get something fabbed in China think you could swing me a deal? :)

Looks like I will be interning there this summer, starting in May. We should totally carpool. On a tangent, your face is going to be a poster.

Awesome! I'm totally down for the carpooling, as my commute in our Van of Death™ is a little pricey.

I can't wait to see the poster! I'd love a copy if they aren't to expensive to produce, or if I could get a digital copy I could print one here.

I haven't made any connections with our China manufacturing guys, though depending on what you were looking into making we could always suggest it to the the R&D guys as a future Griffin product... ;)

Yeah, I found out Griffin (and also Marathon Computers, which was bought out by Griffin) were based locally a few years ago and had a bit of a pipe-dream of working for them for a while. Lo and behold, while I was unemployed this summer I stumbled upon a craigslist ad for my current job and was able to get in! Great company to work for so far: very laid back and growing all the time.
