Bleh. I don't really know if I like lilac-flavored things. The taste is a bit too powdery and perfumey for me; like I should be using it as a sachet instead of drinking it as a tea. Or spraying it on myself; it's not unlike the body sprays I liked as a teenager. Glad I only bought a 1 oz. bag. Wasn't even $2, so no great loss

Could also try using it as a tea rinse. I'm sure a lilac-scented tea would be nice.

Strand's has a better base, so it holds up against the lilac. It's more flowery-berry, not so much flowery perfume.

From what I've tasted, S&V's black base is really not good at standing up to strong florals. The light base works with their violet tea, but the lilac overwhelms it. Maybe I just don't like lilac, I dunno.
Their Strawberry Cupcake and Apple Cinnamon Coffeecake teas are obscenely good though.
