As an escape from stupid craps on other social networking sites, I'll come here to talk about my latest love: Lucifer.
I love demons and angels and such, and I had based my original stories and characters in Broken Paradise on demons and angels. (To the point where Jyusal might as well be the otherworldly equivalent to the fallen angel himself.)
I had planned to write and draw a story (prolly a webcomic) on him and the other six "princes" of the Inferno. And some of the other demons of the Ars Goetia would have showed up too. But I'm still in a kind of funk... but here are some designs for Lucifer. I love him, and I love my Jyusal, I am so happy with them... I would treat them like brothers, I think they'd understand each other... (also ignore the text floating around Lucifer that isn't relevant to him.)
THE FALLEN
The halo was inspired by the likes of Devil May Cry 4's angelic demon-humanoids Santus Diobolica and the Savior. I wanted his halo to look broken or maybe melted or bent to look like devil horns because of his nature. The halo is thin and has intricate designs (that I always fail to get on paper in my laziness) and is dark but not completely back, like tarnished gold or something.
His sash is violet/purple because of the sin of Pride being symbolized with that color. What isn't shown is that I had wanted to add peacock feathers to his design, but they might be a little out of place, so I guess he just hangs around with them or something. It is official now, that he does NOT wear shoes while in this form. But when he is Louis Cypher/Luke Morgenstern/Lucille he will wear shoes, but will take them off whenever possible because he hates shoes.
I just went with Ye Olde bland gray steel shackles around his wrists, ankles and neck. (hidden by the gorget) He uses his powers to hide his scarring, as there are rings all around those areas from where the metal cut into his skin and rubbed against it, because he constantly moves around and struggles against his restraints. He hides them because they are imperfections that he does not care to see every time he looks into mirrors. But sometimes he'd go into a fit of rage and smash any mirror he comes across because after a while he'd see those imperfections again and it angers him to no end. S'why his 'cage' in Cocytus has broken glass all over amongst the ice, snow and cold.
The chains are white-gold and glow with holy light, and get brighter when he pulls at them, reminding him of their strong hold on him. At the ends of the chains are five tall pillars, two of the pillars actually being a twin set. (the chain holding his neck/head and the chain on his left arm - his sword hand) So in reality there are 7 pillars in all, for the 7 Archangels of Virtue - Zadkiel, Chamuel, Jophiel, Raphael, Uriel, Gabriel, and Michael. (And sometime during the story, he finds a weak point in various parts of the world (the 'Wonders of the World') and breaks the chains. By destroying the Archangels one by one as he ascends back to Paradiso for vengeance. Though, haven't figured out what he'd do when he confronts his creator again...
I wanted his wings to look like glass at first, but I guess in the end they looked too much like fairy wings. Even if I still use the term 'shattered' to describe his wings' current state, they aren't glass, but still pieced together in the form of wings somewhat with whatever is left of them. I suppose they're feathers, but they were inspired by the wings of a character called Yggdrasil(?) (which is a tree or something, he don't look like a tree...) from a game called Tales of Symphonia.
THE INSPIRATION
Yggdrasil, wing inspiration.
The Savior/Silver Gigias/False Savior/Totally Not Vergil Sparda from Devil May Cry 4 - halo inspiration.
Santus Diabolica from Devil May Cry 4. Halo inspiration.
I haven't drawn any of my other OCs in quite a while, and it annoys me because Broken Paradise has been on the backburner for nearly 10 years and I know it's READY to be told. But I am just rolling around here doing nothing... So I guess it's my own fault. I ironed out the major kinks in the story I believe, and most of the characters aren't as crazy 'mary sueish' as they used to be, and there's more realistic parts to it as well (such as the different races having distinct features that make them unique, including skin color... and that's why Jyusal and friends are now tan skinned.) There... just wasn't enough diversity between the characters besides it being said that warm colors (red-orange-yellow-black) for eyes and hair are more common in the Las'Eil (Jyusal, Firaya, Grell and Aziz's race) and cool colors (green-blue-violet-white) are more common in the Kalybae. (Adrian, Uzoxy, Peony, and Amorie's race)
Also, I role-play as Lucifer on tumblr. He's very silly, but I guess it's just the only way people would want to RP with me as him... and now I am not exactly feeling welcome anymore, once again, since there is yet another Lucifer RPer. I suppose I am no longer unique, lol.
Okay I'm done talking now.
