2 clarifications

Kaiberie.livejournal.com is NOT going away - but my public posts are.
It's all about, basically, the focus of my blogging and how it's disparate to what different segments of the social groups and stuff that I interact with expect.

One of the biggest problems my beloved and I have been talking about recently is 'what will I do when I actually start picking up honest to god, for real fans, who aren't freinds first and are only interested in knowing me cause I'm a writer (which is no bad thing, but NOT why I blog).  I am incredibly concerned by the far end of that scale (stalkers of a *different kind* - those that like people with attention simply because they fixate on them), and more importantly, I'm concerned about the level of attention that my personal life might generate, further down the road.  Again, we're back to the 'non traditonal outlook' on the world thing, and it's scary that people use stuff against others, either because they think they're entitled to, or because sometimes it's human nature to pull others down a peg or two.  Something I don't agree with, but I'm now hyper concious that I need to have a place I stay in touch with you guys - and a similar place where I'm able to reach out to people that are *fans* not freinds.

And I'm doing this NOW because I don't want it to damage anyone else on my blog.
I'm learning by example.  Jay Lake keeps a public blog, but has a small group of freinds that he posts private stuff to, too.  So LJ (and another distrcit for those that don't *like* LJ) is going to have to suffice.

The second reason for it is purely selfish.  I don't want to share every little thing in my world with every stranger that finds me because I've written something thought provoking, or because they're on the warpath about something.  I want to keep some special stuff for the 'special' (steady - I'm a gamer, that means something else entirely, and I don't mean it that way) people in my life, so that it's not just 'mass updates, you're not as important to me as my public image.  I got *that* badly wrong, and I'm remedying it.

I'm fed up of attracting elements that are nonconducive to anything I need to create, and for the first time in my life, I actually think very carefully before posting, even to here.  S'not how a blog should be that keeps my freinds in the loop, so I'm fixing it.
The solution is to go back to being 'freinds only' on the main part of it, and to let people follow me to thier hearts content in public.  It's going to be hard, but not as hard as explaining my every little move further down the line.

Hope that makes more sense.
The freinds only clarification will go up as soon as I've worked out the branding for the sites overall.  From there it'll be easier ;)
