Yoochun thinks that he is glad he is in Dong Bang Shin Ki, and not some other boy bands with five members, or four members, or thirteen members. He thinks he is very glad that the other members are who they are, that Jaejoong laughs only when he's with them, that Yunho only shows his childish side when he knows he is not on camera, and that Changmin can be as snarky as he wants without worrying about fan reactions. He thinks he is incredibly glad that Junsu is in Dong Bang Shin Ki with him instead of in another group like Super Junior, because Super Junior has Eunhyuk who is really Hyukjae who is Junsu's best of best friends, and he thinks he is glad that Junsu is in Dong Bang Shin Ki and Hyukjae is in Super Junior, two separate bands who almost never ever meet up. And for that reason, he is doubly glad that Dong Bang Shin Ki is now working as Tohoshinki and that they are in Japan, an entirely different country, and that busy scheduling keeps Super Junior far, far away from Dong Bang Shin Ki.
Yoochun thinks he is glad that there are only five of them at all times, no more and no less. He thinks that with only five members, fans can only pair any two of them up with a finite number of combinations. He thinks he is glad that Jaejoong and Yunho and Changmin and Junsu and him are not in a group like Super Junior, which have thirteen members. He remembers that thirteen choose two is is seventy eight, and five choose two is only ten, and therefore there can only be four pairings involving Junsu and someone else when there are only five of them, as opposed to twelve pairings if they were in Super Junior. He thinks that he is the least scared when he reminds himself that with only four possible pairings, Yoosu have a twenty five percent chance of happening, as opposed to eight percent chance.
Yoochun thinks that he is glad Dong Bang Shin Ki's lineup has Junsu on the edge. He thinks he is glad because Junsu can stand next to him at all times, and that with Junsu so far away from the other members, Hosu moments or Jaesu moments or Minsu moments will never happen. He thinks he is very much content with the high amount of Yoosu moments instead, and that Junsu can only talk to him when he wants to talk to someone on stage, that he almost always only looks at Yoochun because he is the closest, and that no one else could touch Junsu except him because Junsu is at the far edge whose closest contact is only Yoochun. He thinks he is glad Junsu does not stand where Jaejoong stands, because Jaejoong has Jaemin and Jaeho and Jaechun, but Junsu only have Yoosu and so Yoochun is glad, glad, glad.
The only thing Yoochun is not glad about, but he cleverly prevents himself from thinking about it, is the fact that Yoosu does not actually exist, that Junsu have a long trainee history with Yunho and laughs the most with Jaejoong and drags Changmin out all the time for soccer games anyway because Changmin is the best at soccer, and that his closest friend is still Hyukjae and they call each other every day and talks for hours if both are on break.
But Yoochun is the master at self delusion and so he conveniently misplace these memories, and he thinks he is glad.
