I was finally able to catch "Bleach" on GMA 7 today. Luckily, on the moment I switched the channel, Rukia and Ichigo were already talking and it gave me a chance to listen to how the Starstruck members handled the dubbing. I wasn't able to endure it for more than a minute and I immediately closed the TV.
~~ Why? because Yasmien Kurdi sucked at voicing Rukia.
For me, Marky Cielo did a fair job of dubbing Ichigo but hearing the unemotional, halting delivery of Rukia's dialogues by Yasmien Kurdi was such a pain. I just hate it. That was what I was afraid of. I know that before you can get casted for a dubbing role you need to undergo an audition (just like they did with Hikaru's dubber in MKR) but I don't think it happened in this case. They got lucky with Marky Cielo but I believe casting Yasmien was a *huge* mistake. I don't like her acting, I don't even like her singing and I was hoping she could redeem herself in my eyes by doing a good job in dubbing but I was more than disappointed. If they ditch her, then the pinoy dub of "Bleach" could be salvaged.
