So I'm excited to be here in England, but I have to vent first about something that pissed me off today/yesterday before I can talk about the happy times.
So there are about 12 kids here from Bentley, and I've just about met all of them. I only knew one person when I originally decided to come, so meeting more people was good. We've all been spending time together and making friends with people here at the same time and I thought we were all getting along good enough to plan trips places together. Guess I was wrong. 3 of the kids from Bentley (one of which was the only person I knew going into this trip) went into London last night and didn't even tell the rest of us, let alone invite us to go along. They spent the night there and then toured there today and never even asked if we wanted to go (considering that we've all been talking about going in sometime this weekend). It just makes me mad cause I thought we were all getting along and then they do this. I think its because they found a way to go to oktoberfest and not have to pay for a hotel and so they've been sucking up to some girls that they met from BC this past weekend. I know it shouldn't bug me but it does.
Ok, ending that there. I did get to go into London today with a few other girls from Bentley (one from the states as well but another college) and we had a good day. We got to see a lot of the major sites but didn't go inside too many of them (actually, non of them really). Whats weird to me though is that I still don't seem to realize I'm in another country, even with touring today I still didn't get that really excited feeling about being somewhere new. Maybe its cause I know I'm gonna be here for awhile and I don't need to rush anything. Thats why we didn't go into anywhere today cause we figured we should wait and save some money and when we do go in for certain things we can spend a lot of time at them and really get to enjoy the sites.
The school is really nice here. I have one of the nicest dorms on campus (actually, I think its THE nicest dorm, considering it was finished getting built 2 days before I moved into it.) My flat mates are pretty cool. There are two from England who are both really sweet, one from Lebanon, one from Pakistan, and two others who I dont know where there from. Its funny cause if I really don't want to see them I don't have to cause I have a single room with a bathroom so I never need to leave other than classes and getting food.
Not really sure what else to write about. I start classes on Monday, and even then I don't have seminar classes, just lecture (seminar starts the following week) so I'll still have a lot of time to kill.
Write more when theres something exciting.
