So I went for a run. I actually waited to update my journal until after I'd done so, just so I wouldn't jinx it. I haven't really worked out for - hell - probably close to two months, unless you count the swim I went for in Indianapolis. There was a tiny pool at the first hotel we were at, but it was an open-air one on the roof, so that was actually really nice, swimming out there among the tall buildings.
But yes, at any rate, I haven't went for a run in at least two months. I think I kinda over-did it. I was jogging along quite happily, feeling like I could go on pretty much forever in that pace, which was good. But then I made the mistake of upping the pace and sprinting for a few blocks. Uh-uh. Not a good idea. I was cramping up by the end. No biggie, but it would have been much nicer at a lower speed, methinks. I blame the music - it made me want to go faster! I've been listening a lot to
Jonathan Coulton (thanks for the rec
foxxtail!) lately, and it makes me happy. His songs are very funny in an intelligent way, he sings like an angel, and the music is quite frankly dramantic. Go check out
his music - my favorites so far are Skullcrusher Mountain, Mandelbrot Set and The Future Soon.
So now I'm enjoying the fact that I don't have work tomorrow, and that I'm having a pretty friggin' awesome day. I plan on getting some translating done while fiddling with editing a draft, then maybe some screencapping later, and perhaps I'll work on some other writing. You know, I'm struck yet again at how lucky I am to have such good friends who love me, an amazing man (Kat Boy Man, with his alter-ego Boyfriend Person), the means and opportunity to travel as much as I do, the ability to indulge in my hobbies - being able to write, such joy! And to have very few urgent worries or discomforts. Lucky indeed. Much love to you all. :)
