Kaho's recommended otome games 1
Well, I have decided to do a short review of some of the recent otome games I have played and hopefully could influence you into playing them too...niehehe >)
The first one I would like to recommend is ソラ * ユメ (SoraYume) by Takuyo.

This game is a visual novel type game, which I must say, since I am never a person that can read heavy text for a long time, was surprisingly hooked while playing this game. Before we get into my gaming experience, here is a brief summary of the storyline.
It is a normal school life but one day, you wake up to find that both your parents went on a business trip and you are left at home alone. Then while you were looking for something, you found a ring and when you put it on, a "akuma" appears, and he says that he is looking for a ring and you are forced to help him find it.
Apparently the ring he was looking for is a cursed ring and whoever puts it on, although it will grant you your wish but it will also eat your soul. And the person wearing the ring will turn into a vampire, thirsting for human blood.
So anyway, you agreed you will help him look for it, but in the next few days, you start to meet some people and they seem to have something to do with the ring.
So I guess the mystery is to find out, why these people are there, and what is their relationship to the ring. And since the ring eats its owner's soul, so you are trying to find out who out of the people around you is the owner of the ring. Before they attack you and drink you blood first?
I like this game because:
1. It is a suspense mystery game. So it has mysteries to solve which I love, and depending on who you are going after, the person that was possessed by the evil ring is different, so you can never predict the outcome.
2. There is no annoying characters. Meaning, you will have no problem going through all the characters and completing the game 100%
3. The wonderful skip system. This time, they allow you to skip directly to the next speech option so you can go through the game really fast and just concentrate on the interesting parts.
I dont like this game because:
1. For some reason the BGM disappears or "softens" when the character is speaking. You will get use to it as you play, but it may be distracting in the beginning
2. I played it at night, when I was all alone at home, and this game has some "horror" theme to it. So yes, I felt a chill down my spine playing this game...==;;;
My overall rating: 4 1/2 stars
It has been a while since I have been hooked onto a game because of the storyline. I seriously recommend it to anyone who has a medium level of Japanese. Although it is a visual novel game, the Japanese is not that hard (in my opinion) and it is full voiced.
The second game I recommend is Drastic Killer

Game type: harrassing naked bishies and suck their affections for your own benefit 8D

Okay, for anyone that has played the DS game Duel Love, you will be familiar with the harrassing naked bishies aspect because this game was created by the same company Bandai Namco.
The story basically talks about you, on the night of your 16th birthday, a bishie with long hair appeared before you and told you that you have been chosen to be a "Queen" candidate of the land of Enorado. Meaning that you will be one of the candidate to marry the next king of Enorado. However because you were a half, meaning your mother was from the land of Enorado, and your father is pure human, so your powers were only half awaken.
Therefore, you continued on with your normal school life, meeting bishies as you go. When one day, you felt extremely thirsty and while talking to one of the bishies, you experienced your first "Love Steal". Love Steal is your special power where you can look inside a person's inner affections, and like a dracula, you suck their affections and emotions to become your own power.
What I like about the game:
1. The game is very interactive, meaning, you visit bishies on image maps, and then talk to them by choosing different ways of responses. There are choices of responding in a "devillish way", "natural way", "angelic way". Different bishies respond differently from the choices you make, and when they are pleased with your answers, their affection meter increases to allow you to "love steal" them.
2. The storyline is very interesting, although the first half of the game is based on image map, but visiting the bishies, they will never have repeated and recycled conversations. Meaning, each time you visit them, there will be a new conversation.
3. There are animations in between the main events! xD
4. There are fighting scenes! (well you dont fight, but it looks like anime when you watch it)
What I dont like about the game:
1. The Love Steal thing could be annoying. Because you have to turn your R3 or L3 stick like crazy, and you will get sore hands. (But that also means you wont fall asleep playing this game)
2. I wish there wasn't naked bishies making emarrassing erotic sounds when you do the love steal. It is rather embarrassing when you are playing it when someone else is at home. So I recommend you play this locked in a room.
My own experience is- I was Love Stealing this bishie's affection, and a friend walked in on me.
Friend: OMG!! What are you doing?? Naked boys on plasma TV!!
Me: I am sucking their life juice out of them. *rolling R3 like crazy*
*bishie on TV makes erotic sounds*
Friend: ^%&^%**(!! Did he just moan??
Me: Yes. Because I am sucking his life juice out of him. I need to level up my power!! *still rolling R3 like crazy*
Friend: Stop it already!! @/////////////////////////////@
Me: ..............nearly done. <--for some reason not embarrassed.
So yeah, that makes up part of "fun" 8D
3. The save and load system. It takes a while to save and load, not to mention, their quick save and load doesnt really save at the place you want it to. It always goes back by a few dialogues. But I suppose you can just skip it, then it would be okay.

because it has been a while since I had so much fun. No, its not because of the naked bishies, seriously. This game actually has really interesting storylines. The game play is not boring either.
