(no subject)
I'm finally in Santa Cruz.
I'm excited to be here, but I think that if I spend another minute with my parents in close quarters, I'm going to shoot myself. The car drive was LONG and UNCOMFORTABLE. And my mom is the most confrontational person I know. At one point we were in a bakery (in Solvang) and she mentioned wanting to get some chocolate. I said she probably shouldn't 'cause it was late and she has a problem with any sort of caffiene (it makes her vaguely nauseous and keeps her awake for HOURS). She got angry, said I couldn't control her, and bought a bunch.
This is how most of the 30 something hours we spent in the car had been.
Besides the annoying fighting over nothing though, it was *really* beautiful. Friday we stopped off in SoCal, where I got to eat breakfast and fan-squeel with catlover2x, then we stopped at Santa Barbara, Solvang, Pizmo Beach, and Carmel-By-the-Sea. Today, I moved in (the campus is as gorgeous as I remember) and explored Downtown Santa Cruz. Which is really great. It has a great feel to it.
Tomorrow, we're off to San Francisco, then to the airport where I say goodbye to the parents. Finally.
I'll have more to share later. But I am TIRED.
