Lunar Eclipse

Sep 01, 2007 14:16

Last Tuesday evening, the spectacular, lunar eclipse occured. Usually, I would have to go a little distance from our house, at some weird hour, to try to get a glimpse of the moon disappearing to the ever darkening night. Determined, I'd watch for twenty or so minutes, before I'd get creeped out, and head inside.

This time was quite special though. The eclipse began around 7pm, with the full eclipse taking place around 9ish. Our bedroom window opened up to the awesome event, allowing us to lay in bed and watch the moon slowly slip into the darkness. It was the best lunar eclipse that I've ever watched. The only marred part of the whole event was the occasional glimpse of cat paws on our window. The picture below was taken by one of Jason's friends. Next update The Bathing of a Cat, with Claws.
