So last night was the Breaking Benjamin concert. Got home from work around 5:10 because we were stuck in traffic for an hour, and then took the world's fastest shower. Kenny and Richard arrived, and around 6:00 we left to get some grub down at Madison's and then head to the Bay Center.
We arrived at the Bay Center around 7:30, managed to find a parking space, and then fed $6 in quarters (which required different people making trips for change, because they only give you $2 in quarters at Books and Coffee) to the parking meter. We hung out by the car till around 8:10, since the doors didn't open till 8:00 and we didn't feel like waiting in the long ass line. So we go stand in the long ass line, which stretched all the way from the entrance they use for concerts, all the way around the building, and across to the Rusty Rudder parking lot. About forty minutes later, we finally get inside (which was bullshit, because nobody even took our tickets since we had gotten our over 21 armbands from some other staff member way back in the line) and get upstairs just in time to hear the last song by the opening band, who's name I sadly can't remember right now.
Kenny and I head for the bar, and I purchase a whiskey sour and a beer. Eight dollars and seventy five cents later (three seventy five for the beer, five for the drink), I'm back over with the others talking and looking around for Duck and Wanda, since they were supposed to come. They showed up around beer number three (I really can't stand beer, but refused to pay another $1.25 for a mixed drink that was mostly just a cup of ice), or shortly before Silvertide went on, whichever way you want to look at it. Silvertide put on a helluva show, though as is tipical for the Bay Center, you can actually hear the band about 100x better if you're in the bathroom taking a piss. They played until 10:00 or so, and then at 10:30 BB went on stage.
They put on a helluva show, and I sang along with every song, which natually caused me to lose my voice by the end of the show. They only played for an hour however, and their set only included three songs from their first album (Natural Life, Polyamorous, and Home), which really disappointed me since I think it was a lot better than their second album.
Afterwards we all headed to the Rudder (all of us being Duck, Wanda, Richard, Kenny, Danielle, and myself), since it was only 11:30 or so and last call isn't till 1 am. We hung out at the outside bar talking and havin a good time, and Duck bought everyone a round of drinks. Their was a poster for the concert stapled to the one wall of the building, and I told Duck I was gonna take it home with me, so he went right over and took it down off the wall, rolled it up, and handed it to me. Danielle took it out to the car, and also put a couple more quarters in the meter, just in case some nazi meter maid came around.
All in all it was a great show, even if they didn't play a very long set. Now I can't wait for Saturday when we go over to Jersey to see Staind, 3 Doors Down, and BB again.
