Cold, bloody cold and where the hell did all that snow come from?
Last week it was -37 Celsius here. Do not like. This week, so much warmer at -18 (windchill -25).
Yesterday there was a huge blizzard, and the whole bloody island got shut down (unfortunately my work? Did not announce closure until 8:35 when I start work at 8....nearly DIED on way to work, and then had to make my way home a half hour later...in worse conditions)
This morning, it wasn't snowing anymore but when I opened my front door I found a wall of snow. I dug myself out, and went to work (yup, open today). Some of my colleagues had to call for help to get dug out. Yikes.
My one colleague from Saskatchewan said we were being wussies about last week's cold (it wasn't -50) and about yesterday's storm. I disagree. However I found myself making fun of people online for whining about warm temperatures (-10 and up)... Sooo...
We're expecting 20cm more of snow on Friday and another 30-40cm on Saturday. This pisses me off because I have a ticket to a fancy (and expensive) dinner on Saturday night----downtown. (I live out in the country)
