. . . And the reindeer decoration

Jul 26, 2014 14:05

I was standing in the wings of the stage and I had no idea what had happened. All I heard was Walt, our director, ask,"Are you okay?" Alex responded that she was okay. I came out on the stage with the others when we were asked to come out from behind the wings.

The story unfolded for those of us who didn't know what had happened. Alex had come out on stage for her part as the seamstress. As she passed the fake fireplace, a decoration shaped like a reindeer fell onto and hit her forehead. Thankfully, she was okay. There was no injury and no bruise. She was only sore.

Walt said that he could have the reindeer glued to the fireplace so it wouln't fall. Alex said that it would be okay.

The reindeer was not an important part of the set. Sure, White Christmas takes place at Christmastime and it is likely that the inn was going to be decorated for Christmas. However, nobody ever touched the reindeer. The reindeer was never mentioned. Nothing was put on or in the reindeer.

Was the reindeer necessary? It seems that it wasn't necessary.

Yet, it added to the atmosphere. However, it was never truly used.

One reindeer decoration, only used for decoration, was left on the stage and never used.
