Six Word Stories

Jun 16, 2014 13:47

There are a few urban legends about Ernest Hemingway.

One says that he said the best story he had ever written was a six word story.

Another says that he was bet he couldn't write a story in under ten words, so he wrote a story that was either nine words or six words.

Yet another says that he was bet $10 to write a story in six words that would make people cry.

The six word version of the story:
For sale.
Baby shoes.
Never worn.

The nine word version of the story:
Classifed: Baby Goods
For sale
Baby shoes
Never worn.

Of course, this is all speculation, but, that doesn't take the fun away from writing six word stories.

Screeching, rolling,
Chattering, scratching,
Circus time!
