Green Eggs and Clams?

I said, "I keep singing 'Soul Sister.'"

Briana sang, "Hazel sister."

I lifted her blanket and looked at her skin and said, "Nope, you're not hazel."

Then I continued and said, "That's because you've not eaten any of those green eggs yet (this was referring to one of her drawings, since it looks like a yellow yolk and a green albumen.)

Briana said, "I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them Sam-I-Am. I will not eat them with a clam."

Then she paused. Afterwards she said, "Oh."

There was a another pause. Then she said, "I do not like green eggs and clams."

(I had thought about saying, "you don't like them because they will turn your skin green," to the "green eggs and ham" comment.)

I told our mom, "Briana doesn't like green eggs and clams."

Mama then said, "Then I won't make them for her." Afterwards she suggested, "How about eggs and green clams?"

Briana said, "No."

Then she said, "Green eggs and clam chowder."

(I don't think she likes clam chowder, either.)
