Jeff Dunham and Guitar Guy, Brian Haner!

Okay, so it's really into the morning hours of Friday, but for all intents and purposes, in this post, it is still Thursday night.

So, we went to see Jeff Dunham at the Civic Center. The whole waiting for our tickets since we had ordered them months ago was not fun, but that was fixed, though a faster solution would've been nice.

Anyway, the show opened up with Brian Haner, aka "Guitar Guy." He was awesome.

Jeff Dunham (JD from now on in this post) didn't do most of what might have been expected since it was technically part of the "Spark of Insanity" tour. There was very little to none of the material that is seen on the Comedy Central special called "Spark of Insanity."

Instead, he did some Christmas stuff and a lot of live stuff and riffing. At times, Brian Haner was called out by being called "Guitar Guy," saying that music was needed and then JD would try to make him laugh.

However, first, one time, JD had Achmed and his arm came off, so of course he was making him swear and JD put the arm behind his back. Next thing I knew, Briana was up and she was shouting. I wasn't sure what she said, but JD watching her questioningly while making Achmed do the same. He then made Achmed say that she was hitting on him and then he said, "I keel her."

When Guitar Guy was out with Achmed, they were saying that he had all kinds of problems. This was after a lot of the other "problems," and he was making Achmed say more stuff. One of the things he said was, "Last week, I thought I had scoliosis." He went on about how he went to the doctor and how the doctor said, "let's take an x-ray." Achmed said that the doctor should just take a picture as it is the same thing.

He also said something about Polio. He was making Guitar Guy laugh and was laughing at himself.

He was going to say either "polio" or "scoliosis," but for some reason, out came "Poliosis," so that was the "disease/illness/health problem" of the night for every character. Achmed said that perhaps he could be the Poliosis Poster Child.

At the end of the show, JD came back out and apparently he got a lot of requests for Bubba J. That's the redneck character. He said that we needed to excuse him since he hadn't used Bubba J in a long while and needed to use cheat notes. Nobody cared about that.

However, as he started, there were already people calling out the punch lines. At one point he made Bubba J ask if they were hearing the same things. He just continued and more and more people joined in shouting out the punch lines if they knew them.

JD said that this made it officially one of the weirdest shows that he has done. I loved it. It was very much "Lake Charles."

I mean, come on . . . Redneck (of which we know Cajun is just a special breed of Redneck), Beer, humor, Lake Charles, making fun of self. All that makes a great time for the people of Lake Charles to shout out the punch lines.

It was great.

Then, I saved this part for last even though it was from Brian Haner. He did his comedy and would start playing songs with titles or lyrics that were appropriate to complete the joke.

Like, at one point, he said that he discovered sex, but unfortunately it wasn't always with somebody else, and then he started playing "Beat It."

He then said that at one point somebody convinced him to drop acid and go to Disney Land congratulating anybody who hasn't done that on being smarter than he was.

Then he said, "but if you're wondering what it's like . . ."

He started playing, "It's a Small World," but he then transitioned into "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."

He sang, "Picture yourself in a boat on a river, where thousands of midgets all sing the same song . . . "

Maybe I'll see if I can find more of his stuff. He's funny!

Oh, and my mom bought me a T-shirt with Peanut on it that says "Jef Fuh Fuh Dun Ham Dot Com." Yay!
