Gah. School is driving me crazy! I have a project to do, but at least it isn’t due until Thursday of next week [but I have a final the day before AND the presentation to worry about]. I did get the highest grade in Programming Logic, a 97. He even offered extra credit, up to 10 points, afterwards because people did so badly on it. I only half assed the extra credit, because it didn’t matter to me if I got much higher than that. But Technical writing is different. I got a 100 [or close to it] on the midterm, but this project is what’s going to make or break my grade, so I definitely can’t half ass it… as much as I want to.
I also have student loans to worry about. I still have my loans from GSU, and now I’m trying to scramble and find a low interest rate loan that isn’t a parent plus loan to cover the rest of the tab for this school year. A grand total of 7,305 dollars. I tried to renew my application online, but it was being an asshole and wouldn’t accept my information. It told me I’d tried too many times and to secure my information it would deny me access and to please try by phone. I’m just like *hell*. If it had worked in the *first* place… So now, I have to run home and do that instead of watching Mai Hime or taking a nap. ::growls:: And I was going to force myself to take a nap before work today, too… So much for that…
Mai Hime, again! Well, I’m up to episode 17 now. It’s starting to get serious now. The Oufans/Orphens are gone. Alyssa and Miyu, the main people behind the Orphens, died. I mean, that was just the first arc of the series. I wish all shows could condense themselves down to that little if that’s what the ending is going to be like anyway. But, of course, as Nagi said, ‘This is only the beginning!’
To start off, going back a few episodes… Reito-san [VP of the Student Board] went to this Tama-something, a festival of sorts, with Mai and Mikoto [who was later lured away by a trail of food]. Tate-kun went with Shiho, and everything was going all fine until, you guess it, they all met up in the woods. Mai was expressing her concern over everything that was happening with the SEARRS Foundation and the Himes with Reito. Tate and Shiho had been in the words for who knows what reason. Shiho was naming the fish Tate had won her when he called her a child and she said she was an adult and all that stuff that basically led up to them almost kissing.
There’s a lot of almost kissing in this episode. Okay, only two, but still…
They [Tate and Shiho] were interrupted by Mai and Reito’s voice. They listened in, and Reito pulled her close and told her to stop worrying and to lean on him for support. Then, she had those tears in the corner of her eyes and they were getting ready to kiss. Meanwhile, Shiho was like ‘Ooooh! Go Mai!’ until she noticed Tate’s expression. He was looking mighty pained there. While he was looking irritated/pained/constipated, Mai and Reito were getting ever closer to kissing when Tate shouted out ‘TOKIHA!’ [Mai’s last name] and ruined the mood.
Mai tried to explain. Reito told her there was no need to and asked Tate why he interrupted. He, being the dumbass that he was, couldn’t explain even though it was obvious. Shiho looked between Mai and Tate then started saying ‘Usotsuki! USOTUKI!’ to Mai. Or ‘You’re a liar! A liar!’ because Mai had promised to stay away from Tate and wish for their [Shiho and Tate’s] happiness. Of course, Mai was really hurt. Then, before anything could be resolved at all, Alyssa decided ‘Let’s blow up the bridge!’ and ‘DOKAN!’ there it went. End of episode 13.
Yeah, and as of Episode 16, nothing has been resolved yet still. Shiho’s in the hospital from Orphen wounds she got during the attack on the school brought on by Alyssa and Miyu looking for the Himes. Tate is diligently looking after her, probably because he feels guilty as sin. Mai is still confused on what the hell to do. Reito is Reito, a snarky bastard. Mikoto is clinging to Mai like white on rice to make sure she doesn’t disappear again like after she defeated Alyssa and the satellite. Everyone else is doing what they do best. Whether it be sneaky gossip queen or angsty ‘Must find my mother’ girl.
The only thing new is that now that the Orphens are gone, the Hime find out they have to fight *each other* in order to make this little merry go round stop. Should have seen it coming, but alas. I did not. Mostly because I’m stupid, because that would explain all the images in that Mai Hime video I watched.
MAJOR SPOILER DEAD AHEAD:
I still want to know how Tate dies. I mean, he died in green sparkles like all the other people, so whose ‘Most important person’ was he? Did he become Mai’s? Or was Shiho a Hime. ::cries in frustration:: I want to know! I guess the only way to know is to watch… Damn…
