Prologue: How it all started.
Summary: At Tokyo's art school are many odd students wandering around, including one lost duckling.
Everything started 8 years ago.. when Kouyou had to switch to a new school, Tokyo's school of art. A prestigious school with many students, all with a passion for art.
Kouyou's father had found a new job in Tokyo, which meant they had to move from a quiet village to the big city. Moving to the big city also meant that he had to find new friends, which was something the small honey blond didn't look forward to at all. People at his last school already called him 'socially awkward', even though he was sure that wasn't true. He just didn't liked to get a lot of attention and changing schools wouldn't make that any different.
Little did he know, that the first day of school in Tokyo was not all that bad.
~~~*~~~
The first class of the day was art class. In which the teacher had introduced him to the class, after telling Byou to stop harassing Hikaru. She had asked him to tell something about himself, but being too shy to actually give a good answer he only managed to stutter his name and age. So it was a big relief to him when the teacher told him to take a seat, next to some strange kid with rainbow hair.
Kouyou wanted to pay attention to what the teacher was saying, but got distracted by the rainbow-haired kid, called Takamasa who started to ask him five questions at a time. It was creeping him out a little and he reminded him of someone who had way too much red bull, combined with coffee.
He tried to ignore him and vaguely heard the teacher saying that they were going to paint anything which involved nature.
Kouyou already had decided to make a painting of a duckling he saw earlier, swimming in the pond close to his new home, when some boys of his class suddenly came up to him.
''Say Kou-chan, Kazuki wanted me to ask you something. Do you like boys or girls?'' One of the older boy's asked the small honey blond, who was trying his best to make a painting of the duckling. The boy had an arrogant smirk on his face, jet black hair and eyes which were sparkling with curiosity. It obviously was not this Kazuki-person who wanted to know about that, judging from the look of the older boy's face. Behind him were standing three more guys, all with the same curious look on their faces.
''I don't like boys or girls.. I like ducks and video games.'' Was his answer. Why should he care? He was just a 12 year old boy who enjoyed doing the things boys of his age did. These guys probably just wanted to bully him just like the other kids on his last school, but they proved him wrong soon enough.
''You do? Maybe you should come play with us after school, that will be fun.'' Another boy with brown hair said with a dimpled smile. Out of the four boys, he seemed to be the nicest.
''I don't like ducks.'' The boy with the noseband said and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
The smallest of the group had to stand on the tips of his toes to reach the other boy's head and gently slap the back of it. ''That's not how you make friends Aki! Be nice for once..''
Akira puffed up his cheeks while looking at the other boy. ''Well slapping me isn't nice either!''
The noseband boy and the small chestnut one kept on bickering about the matter, until the teacher came up to them. ''Enough boys, stop it right now or I will send you both to the principal-''
She wasn't even finished yet, before she saw the chaos on the other side of the classroom. ''Takamasa-kun put that down immediately and Kazuki get that thing out of your nose right now!''
~~ 8 Years later ~~
A smile appeared on Kouyou's face when he thought back at that time. They were so careless back then.. or maybe, they still were. The majority of them didn't grow up at all, they all grew taller of course, except for Takanori.. but they were still the same kids from eight years ago.
From the day he met his friends, Kouyou started to think about his future and with who he wanted to share it. Yuu made him look at things in a different way and he soon came to realize that he did liked men as well at the age of fifteen. To be very precise, he did like one man in particular: Yuu.
He never knew the feeling was mutual, until just a few weeks ago, when Yuu confessed his love to the honey blond. It was the best day in his life so far and he couldn't be any happier to share most of his time with the man he loved the most.
Authors note: I wanted to post this a lot earlier, but I just didn't have enough time. I don't know when I will post the first chapter, because internship and exams are sucking up my time entirely. I will try and upload the next chapter soon, but I don't think that will happen within the next few weeks, since I will be going to a concert (Orochi) for a weekend as well,
thank you for your patience in advance.
