My college, Rutgers University's KSA (Korean Student Association) held an event called projectKorea III, a culture fest essentially. This year, they performed a drama-inspired performance that was inspired by MBC's hit drama "Princess Hours". They also had performers Clara, Decipher, Johnnyphlo and a special performance with 2PM's former leader Jaebeom's dance crew Art of Movement.
There was no way I would miss the chance to see Jaebeom. Not after everything that's happened, along with how much I'd still loved him as a fan. The day the tickets went on pre-sale, I stood in the rain and cold for an hour just to get a ticket. There was no way I'd give up what is most likely the only time I'd ever get to actually see him in person since I'd never expected to see Jay on the east coast and I wouldn't be able to actually drop things and run off to Washington. I brought the ticket to see Jay, it was just a lucky chance that I do enjoy seeing people breakdance as well. So I grabbed this chance and I don't regret it at all.
I got to see Jay in person. He was healthy, as adorkable as ever and he was so cheeky towards his fellow dance crew members as well as the audience. I loved watching AOM breakdance. And I almost felt like crying after it was all over. I guess, while I knew Jay was going to be performing here, I didn't actually believe it completely, not until I actually saw him walk out onto the stage. My heart lept and I shrieked my throat out along with a little over 700 fangirls and boys throughout the remaining time. I also took so many pictures though there's always been a problem with its focus most of the time.
I will never forget this chance I had to get to see Jay and in a way, its also brought me a bit of perspective. That now I can see him as a person and not just as an unreachable idol. He's just as human as anyone else, just as real to me now and I think its made me love him even more for that.
My first ever post on LJ and it's about Jay. *sheepish* Everything that's been happening the past few months just built up and I just had to get it off my chest. Hopefully, any other posts I make will actually have a purpose.
