Giants

You've got to grow with the flow,
or be bereft of light,
stranded forever in an eternal night
surrounded by giants
with their arms in the sky
while you flounder on the ground below.

Even if the light is out of sight,
you're still going to reach,
doing whatever you can to make a breach,
Your struggle is hopeless
But not futile
Because life is your right.

In time even a giant becomes pliant,
susceptible to your plight,
beginning their fall from the light
Darkness is everywhere,
so easy to fear,
when surrounded by giants.
