Roasting Away

But otherwise good. :3

So far things have been pretty busy for me. I've been working five days a week, eight hours a day at my father's company in assembly. It's not exactly the most stimulating work, but it's work. And it's much, much better than when I worked at Bread&Buns Factory.

Unfortunately, I've already spent half of my second pay check. XD I bought new headphones when I thought my old ones were broken, then I had to buy a new MP3 player when I found out it wasn't my headphones, it was the sound connection on my Lyra. Ah, well. Can't be helped. I'm loving both my new headphones and my MP3 player though, so it's worth it.

The past weekend was fantastic; I got new paint brushes, held Copic markers for the first time (God, they are the most gorgeous markers ever. But it costs $461.00 for a set of 72), was serenaded by a much older man in a bakery with my sister, and I have a highly recommended book on anatomy on order. Finally, a reference book for my art!

I've almost finished reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Surprisingly, I'm quite enjoying the book. It's really fascinating, the different turns in plot and the ideas being presented in the story. Here's hoping I can write an essay on it and submit it by September 17th for the contest.

Trying to get back into writing has been hard for me. I don't know why. But hopefully, meeting up with Rifa this weekend will help out with one of the prompts I've been having trouble with for a long time, and I'm going to start camping out in my brother's room. It's considerably cooler down there, so I'll be able to concentrate for reading for once.

I'm actually going to have some time to myself for the first time in a long time this weekend. o.o I'm sort of looking forward to it, though I'm sad that I won't get to see one of my friends before she goes to Europe.

I'm going to stop rambling for the moment.

writing, work, life
