Bless my mother's hand at making the internet work!

I'm staying with my Mum right now. It's fantastic. Her place is so relaxing all day long, and I get to have some time to myself while she's at work. I cleaned my baby sister's room today and did a whole bunch of laundry for my mother. Since I'm staying with her I figured it would be nice if I helped her out by cleaning everything. She's so busy with work, and she's been trying so hard to take care of herself and I want to support her in doing that.

I think she may need the support right now, with her room the way it is. It looks as if a clothing bomb went off. XD I never knew she owned so much clothing! And most of it she wants to throw out anyways, thus why they're everywhere at the moment. So tomorrow I'll tackle her room, and Thursday I hope to have the rest of her house nice and clean before I leave.

Friday is the day I finally hand in my two weeks notice at work. I'm both nervous and excited at the same time. After some thought, I may not get a job for the summer since the school has pretty much guaranteed me a tutoring position in the Fall. Instead I'll focus on building up my volunteer hours, which I need to do anyhow, and on applying to scholarships and bursaries. My Dad's not happy about this idea but... well, I need to do things my way and see how they work out. I'm not afraid of the possibility that my path will be harder. If it's hard, then I'll deal with it.

Something weird is going on with my Mum's internet. Since about 6:00pm yesterday it's been going offline for long periods of time, with random, short periods where it works again. I can't for the life of me fathom why it's doing this. Good thing that I had all the nominated stories over at the Malt Shoppe open so I could at least finish reading the stories. I'll have to write my comments later, when the internet is more stable. My Mum was sweet enough to lend me her laptop so I could post my votes last night. I think she got tired of watching me press "Refresh" in quiet desperation again and again. ^^; Though I can't figure out why her wireless is working while the main connection isn't.

At least the computer is fixed. For the moment that is. But I've had a lot of good news lately. I've done well (or decently in my opinion, though I'm told my standards are higher than the norm) in all my courses, even my hellish Phil class. Working my butt off for that final paper really paid off. My brother has been accepted into his engineering program. Congratulations bro! My baby sister is enjoying the chapter books I gave to my Mum to read to her. I sat with them last night listening to my mother read The Giggler Treatment by Roddy Doyle out loud. I've missed listening to my mother read aloud.

But best of all, my Oma's cancer has pretty much receded after fighting it for so long. The prior mass is no longer visible! Here's hoping that it doesn't come back. This summer I may join my family in volunteering for The Underwear Affair to raise money for cancer. Last time we did it it was pretty fun. :3
