Sorry this community's been quiet for so long! Here's a translation! Ohno! Fish! :D!

"As well as Arashi’s regular shows, we’ve got 24 Hour TV and concerts coming up. There are going to be plenty of chances for us to all work hard together, so please check it out! Well, but I’m still just going to be doing things as usual, I guess.”

As fans will know, Ohno’s “usual” isn’t all that ordinary. This year will mark Arashi’s second consecutive, and fourth overall, appearance as main personalities for 24 Hour TV. Ohno will also be starring in this year’s drama special, Kyou no Hi wa Sayonara, making for very busy days ahead.

"Since we were the main personalities for last year’s 24 Hour TV, I didn’t think we’d be given the opportunity again this year. We’d been doing it every four years up until now, so I thought it’d be another four years before we were asked again. With last year fresh in my memory, I hope that I can complete this year’s with a little more composure. Once the show starts, it’s over before you know it. Sure, I’m there as a personality, but I’m also watching as part of the audience. It’s not an opportunity that comes by often, is it? Getting to see people working so hard. We get to meet people we wouldn’t usually be able to, we get to see them giving it their all-it’s really motivating. Whole new sides of the members are revealed, too. I guess it’s great just to be there amongst that.”

In the drama special, you play a young man who is diagnosed with cancer and told he has three months to live.

"It’s a difficult role, but my character’s family is structured the same as mine, and we’re similar ages, so we have various connections. I often do think about death. Like, what happens after you die? Is there life after death? I don’t really know, but I feel like there’s got to be something. If there was nothing more after death, then it seems like we’d all become bad people. (smiling mysteriously) Heheh. The moments I really feel like I’m alive are during my alone time, like when I’m painting or fishing. I never know when I’m going to become busy again, so my free time is very precious. To just do nothing would be a waste."

While laughing that “free time is my everything”, he still faces his responsibilities with all he’s got. His sense of accomplishment is conveyed through his firm voice and expression. His skin on the day of the photo shoot was also flawless!

"I haven’t been able to go fishing, so maybe my skin’s a bit lighter than usual (laugh). I don’t really do any particular grooming… I wash my face, put on lotion, and that’s it. My skin isn’t all that nice. It gets dry easily. And when it does, I don’t do anything. I just wait for it to sort itself out. I’m not really concerned about my hair, either. I was cutting it myself for about five years. On work days I just put a hat on before I leave, and on my off days… that’s the best! I don’t have to do anything. Businessmen, though, don’t they have to do their hair a bit? I think that’s amazing. (While looking at his manager) They can’t wear hats, huh."

As expected, I might have to admit defeat regarding questions related to this issue’s hair and skin theme… Or so I thought, but Ohno continued to battle on.

"Oh! There is one thing I do. There’s a lip balm I’ve been using for eight years. When I was doing musicals, my lips kept cracking, so someone recommended me this lip balm. I started using it, and I liked it. Actually, Aiba-chan uses the same kind. Sometimes in our dressing room we’d get them mixed up, but now I can tell just by the weight and feel which one is mine (laugh)."

When I asked him about his preference in women’s skin, he replied “I don’t know”. As for hair styles, he answered “As long as it suits them, anything’s fine”. Ohno, this is a hair and skin special! Please give us something!

"Fair enough. Don’t fish have pretty skin? Some of them even shine in rainbow colours. There’s this fish called mahi-mahi that has a face like an alien, but the colours of a jewel beetle. It’s beautiful! But when you catch one and reel it in, it turns yellow, and then blue in the end. The yellow is like a danger signal. The mahi-mahi that’s been caught turns yellow to say “This is dangerous!” and warn its friends so they can escape!"

At least Ohno offers us a passionate talk about fish skin(?).
