Saturday weigh-in!

Hooray!  Well, this week I did a much better job of sticking to my guns, as it were.  My goal for the week was to not lose control, which I managed to do - I'm not saying I was perfect, but I did a good job of being moderate.  For example, there were free cupcakes in the lounge all week, and I only ate two, on two different days.  I ate at restaurants for lunch on Thursday and yesterday, and did very well there too.  Overall, I'm happy.  This was a rough week for my various new resolutions: between Hallowe'en and "the monthlies" (heh) I don't really think I could have done better.  That awesome mood I was in earlier this week has held out, although I've come down a little... I was in a bar with some of the other graduate students yesterday afternoon and it suddenly hit me that I really didn't want to be around other people (I get this sometimes, where I just get overwhelmed and need to go off and spend some time by myself).  So I'm looking forward to being a hermit all weekend.

I weighed myself this morning!  206 pounds!  No way!  This brings my total weight loss since August 23rd to 42 pounds... and I'm only 3 pounds away from being 50 down from the highest number I ever saw on a scale (which was in August 2006).  My new BMI is 33.2.  I can't wait to be in the 20s!

I think I deserve a reward.  As I expected, I have changed my mind about the shoes.  I mean, they're still adorable... but I'm so poor.  So very, very poor.  Instead, I am going to get myself a copy of the BBC's North and South - I can't remember how many times I've read that novel, and everyone who's seen it says it's a great series and worth buying.  I'm also going to take myself to the mall this afternoon and hit up Sephora (during the Michigan/Michigan State game... no crowds!).  I'm so excited!

My goal for this week is to continue the good work and keep up my control.  I don't want to deny myself everything every day, but I don't want to regret anything either.  I'd also like to get back to eating more vegetables.  I eat plenty of fruit, but I haven't really been eating enough green things.  So I hope to improve on that this weekend too.
