As of today, I am officially no longer a size 20!
Today I wore a pair of green khaki-ish pants that I bought at Old Navy two years ago because they were on sale for something ridiculous like $5. I remember trying them on at the time, and not being able to fit them over my butt. "No problem," sez I, "I'll just lose weight, and then I'll wear them all the time!" Of course, after two years of carting them around and storing them in the bottom of my closet and occasionally pulling them out and finding out that no, in fact, they still don't fit... they fit! They were even lose around the thigh! (But tight in the hips. But loose around the waist! I guess this is why you shouldn't buy pants without trying them on first).
I've put all my old size 20s away in the back of my closet. I'm going to keep them, because I really look forward to doing that thing where you pull out a gi-GAN-tic pair of trousers and hold them out in front of your tiny body, like they do in commercials. I am reluctant to buy new clothes, since I'm viewing size 18 as a transitional stage, but I think that right now I only really have two pairs of trousers that could fit me.
I do have plenty of 16s in my closet though. So I guess that's the next goal. Woohoo!
