A Modest Proposal..... ;-)
In response to all the folks who claim that Dragon*Con and NYCC were ruined this year by the influx of inbred "non-fans" that stood around, drank beer and tried to screw everything in sight, I propose a new plan of action:
No pre-registration. You must go to the convention site starting the day before the con or later and purchase your badge. But first you must go to a computer kiosk and take a ten question test quiz. If you get less than 50%, you are not allowed to purchase a ticket to the event. Those that pass receive a slip that they then can take to get in line to purchase a badge. Others must leave the convention site ASAP and will be arrested for trespassing if they are on the property at any time during the con's hours of operation. If you DO get into trouble and have a badge, you will be put into a database and banned for life from the convention in question or any others that see fit to do so. The database will be available to other conventions on request.
