Wonderful day in CSR land!
Ok.
So saying that probably wasn't what I was supposed to say, but I'm in customer service, and a CSR can only take so much bullshit from nasty customers..
Scenario:
Guy calls in to set up new electric account
He calls back and I get the phone call. "Yeah, I just called and set up a new account, and she told me that it would be reconnected tomorrow. I just paid a fucking deposit of $400. I've never had to pay a $400 deposit to any utility company.. "
I respond with, I understand that, but our crews already have the work with them today, so it is scheduled for tomorrow.
Guy: So, you're telling me thats how you jack around your customers...
Me: "No.. I'm saying thats when its scheduled. If you would have called in yesterday to start service, it would have been sent out for todays business"
Guy: Thats just bullshit. Thats fucking ridiculous. I only had to pay a $90 Deposit to Nipsco. you guys are crooks!!
Me: Well, had you maybe been a bit nicer on the telephone, we may have worked with you a bit more and would have gotten your service reconnected for you today.
Guy: Really.
Me: Yes. Frankly.
Guy. Well. Fuck You.
and he hung up.
Yeah. So. I probably shouldn't have said that, but dammit. Treat us with respect and maybe it'll get you farther. Don't be a dick just because you have a Mouth. oK?
like 2 min later his girlfriend was on the phone begging us to come out and reconnect the service today.. it was explained to her in the same way..
so far we haven't heard back.
