(no subject)
Things that make me happy:
--Opera's new beta version works with gmail, so I have no reason to fight with Firefox, which manages the unbelievable feat of loading pages slower than IE.
--I think I have the archive completely set up to work the way I want it to.
--Will and I get to see the Backstreet Boys on Tuesday!!!!!!!
--!!!!
--School will be out in less than two months.
Things that make me less than happy:
--This ongoing sinus infection, which makes it feel like someone has stuck a brick on my chest and cotton in my ears. Yuck.
--School is not yet out.
Other observations:
--I find it highly unlikely that the speech patterns on Deadwood are in any way representative of the time. Actually, the number of fuck/fucking's uttered make it sound a lot like it was written by a three year old who has just discovered the power that word has over his/her parents. And then there's the formal rhetoric some of them use when speaking, although not all of the time--obviously education was more effective in the realms of vocabulary back in the day. Or the writers are very impressed with themselves.
--Which is not to say I don't like Deadwood; I think the storylines are riveting. I just think the writers are a little overly self-conscious about their dialogue.
--Lost was certainly something this past week, wasn't it? I'm just not entirely sure what.
--I think I want to see Sahara.
