yuletide recs

I was mentioning that it seemed ironic that even in an obscure fandom ficathon, *my* fandoms were too obscure to get recommended much, and witchqueen told me to get busy reccing.  So . . . the following are not all the stories I liked, because I liked several that have been recced from here to yon and back.  However, these are ones I liked but haven't seen mentioned much or at all (as far as I know).

A Little Help From My Friends (Big Wolf on Campus)--the Merton voice is very good, and the story itself is fun.

Field Marshall (Blackadder)--this could have been an episode; the voices are perfect, and there are turnips!

Some Fine Things (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid--a lovely look at how Butch and Sundance got their start.

Fumarole (Coldfire Trilogy)--if only this were a missing scene from the end of the trilogy.

Afraid of Americans (Dead Zone)--creepy, yet believable.

Love Among Men (Ethan of Athos)--a look at Terrance Cee and Ethan after the book; this is what I wanted to read at the end of the book.

A Hawaiian Family Thing (Hawaii)--great Danny/Chris banter, and a nice case story in the midst of them finding each other.

Last Exit Before the War (Jeremiah)--the story written for me!  A beautiful and completely believable look at how Kurdy comes to understand his feelings for Jeremiah.

Breathtaking (Lost Souls)--a beautiful Ghost/Steve story that could have come from the book.

Memorare (Miracles)--Paul, Alva, and a few quiet moments.  The atmosphere of the story fits the series beautifully.

A Better State Than This (My Own Private Idaho)--okay, this one has been recced a few times, but it's worth it.  It's a look at how Scott thinks, and how the movie (should have) ended.

The Return of el Gato (The Rundown)--great Beck voice, great Travis voice, and a typical Travis predicament.

The Summer Prince (The Winter Prince)--Lleu's thoughts about Medraut after the events in the book.  Very nicely done.
