I have been busy today. I have:

--taken Will out to the mall and Target, where he spent the money he'd earned this week as quickly as possible on a computer game
--bought Twilight at the mall to see if it lives up to the hype, and dishes at Target because mine keep getting broken
--bought us dinner at Golden Corral. Yes, this blew the diet. Will and I agreed we were starting over tomorrow.
--Cleaned everything off the kitchen counters that wasn't directly related to cooking.
--De-crapified my bathroom counter and straightened the first aid drawer
--Listed a bunch of cookbooks I'd never use on PaperbackBookSwap/Freecycle (depending on what they were)
--Listed my Bowflex Treadclimber on craigslist and in the local paper--I need the money and can walk up an incline on any street in the city**
--hopefully found Lucy a good new home

As for the last, my best friend T called and invited Will and I to a 4th of July thing (which'll be on the 5th) and while we were talking, I thought about asking if she'd take Lucy. She's great with animals, but they have several already so I wasn't sure if she'd be able to. She talked it over with M, her husband, and he apparently loves bassets, so ... if everything works out, we'll be taking Lucy up there on Tuesday after she gets her stitches out. I'm going to cry when the time comes, I'm sure. At least this way we'll be able to see her again. Will isn't thrilled, although he's being pretty adult about it. Still, she was kind of "his" dog. I feel bad for him. Just not as bad as I feel when I see Lucy cowering away from Brenna.

I started wondering about getting him a small pet to have in his room and think of as his, but .... A) he's so forgetful, and B) small pets tend to come with cages or tanks or whatever that have to be cleaned, and C) we've discussed in this space before how Will's definition of "clean" does not match up with the rest of the human population's. So, no.

**I probably listed it for too much. It's in perfect condition, so I asked for $1000. New, it sells for around $1800. I just figure that if I get any takers, they'll want to haggle me down, and this way I can drop to $800 if I have to (which is the lowest I want to go). Then I can drop that money into the black hole I like to call my credit card. Speaking of which, my tax refund and economic bribe money finally arrived on Friday. It's been hard not to run out and spend all of it. The vast majority is going to the credit card, but a wee bit is going to take care of a couple of other things, and *maybe* something that I personally want. Although I personally want to have no credit card bills at all, so we'll see.

money, life as we know it, pets
