For future reference: I'm esmeweatherwax on GJ (http://esmeweatherwax.greatestjournal.com/) and kaethe on insanejournal (http://kaethe.insanejournal.com/). Mostly just camping out there. If you've got a journal on either one and would like to add me or drop a line here so I can add you, that'd be excellent.

Currently, the dog is depressed because the kid can't walk her because the kid is stuck in his room due to being an ass this morning. Am rather tired of the kid atm.

Currently I'm weeding through crates/bins of stuff I have around my house looking for things I can throw away. I'm not being ecologically sound about it, either. If it's something that's in really good condition, I'll freecycle it. Otherwise, I'm just throwing it away. Poor landfill. I just desperately need to not have a house full of clutter.

Once that project is done, I need to get cracking on school stuff. It's only about a month away, and I'd like to have a lot done--actually, I'd like to have my first nine weeks of lessons more or less planned, plus I need to find resources for our new online curriculum database. I've also decided that I need to go through the photo albums I have (my grandmother's, mother's, and mine) and scan the photos onto a cd or dvd, depending on the ultimate size. I was actually looking for a photo of my dad from his early 20's that I think my brother lost when he didn't pay his rent and his stuff got confiscated by the apt. people--for which I could strangle him if it did happen--but realized as I was looking at the photos in these albums that they won't last forever. Some are already quite faded and yellow, and I need to do this while my mom can actually tell me who these people are. At least, I hope she can. Most of the generation above her has already passed on.

Speaking of which, I've mentioned that I had a lot of stuff (pictures, mementos, etc.) of my aunt's partner that I haven't been able to bring myself to dispose of, but would prefer not to keep shuffling around, right? Right. Plus my aunt's and aunt's partner's urns, which I'm totally okay with except for the part where I'm not sure if my aunt's partner's kids know where her urn is. Anyway, I started going through the stuff to see if I could condense it into a smaller container and discovered an old Christmas card from one of my aunt's partner's kids. So I wrote him a letter in the hopes that he hasn't moved and I can find out what he wants me to do with all this stuff. It's going to cost a mint to ship (he lives in AK and there's one very heavy box, plus at least one more lighter box once I've found a few things that weren't with the stuff I was looking at). On the other hand, it'll be out of my house and where it belongs, so I'll pay happily.

This is what happens when I have nothing else going on. I obsess about organizing things . . . far more than I actually *do* the organizing. Where are those Home and Garden channel people when you need them?
