Happy birthday to the woman who inspired me to write again,
Who wrote about Characters I could relate to...
and gave us fantasy fans something different than the same old
Mary Sue witches/princesses "dancing around the maypole to Greensleeves" waiting to be rescued by misunderstood knights/princes...
Happy Birthday to someone who inspired me in so many ways,
to break out of norms and duldrums, not only in my own writings...
but in life.
Thanks for giving us divorced 30-40-something women hopes
to do something different and conquer the world!
Thank you most of all, for introducting me to an 11 year-old male version
of myself ...and taking me on an incredible journey through his life; I consider
that I went through my second childhood with Harry, Hermione and Ron.
Thank you for them, and for Sirius, Severus, Albus, Remus and Tonks....(and yeah, everybody else of course...both dark and light).
Thank you for being my beacon, my shining star, Ms. Rowling.
I'm eternally grateful.
