in shock...

I am borderline tears as I write this entry right now.

We (meaning me and my boyfriend) just went to Walmart to go grocery shopping. We turned the corner and for anyone whos ever been to Walmart you know theres millions of people 24/7. So we're walking in dead smach in the middle of one of the main isles in the store, theres a woman laying down with her head tilted back and shes starting to shake. I kid you not when I tell you there were at least 10 other people around her, 8 of them looked right at her and kept walking. Meanwhile, i catch first glimpse of her and said, "does anyone see this person?" and I run to find someone while dialing 911 on my cellphone. I of course manage to find a walmart worker who doesnt speak English. So i run back to her, still dialing 911 but its not going through because I had little to no service in Walmart and of course we cant touch her because shes having a seizure. So now theres ONE other girl there, still many others that just either keep walking or stop and stare at her, but only me and this other woman had our phones out dialing 911. We finally get a hold of them and now this woman is choking because shes vomitting, luckily and very ironically, a woman who is a nurse runs over and tilts her over and she started shaking violentally at this point....

To see this poor woman lying in the middle of walmart and watch that many people walk by her and see her, but yet not say a word, completely boggles my mind. This woman could have been laying there for a while. She was choking on her own vomit because she couldnt move. This woman literally must have pushed her cart away from her and laid on the ground because she was exactly in the position that you're supposed to be in when having a seizure..and I can almost garuntee that she warned someone around her or told someone that she was beginning to have one. Someone must have seen her lie down. But its the sick fact that no one did anything. She probably watched dozens of faces pass her by and seen tons of shoes pass by her head, and the pain that she must have felt, not only from the seizure, but from watching these people just look at her like it was nothing and not even bother to ask, to call, to do anything. It kills me inside...

luckily we got an ambulance to come and from there I'm not sure what happened to her...all I know is we walked by her cart, half full of groceries and deli meat on the way out, and the spot where she lied covered with papertowels, and I said I prayer for that woman....
