getting my goat this week
Heard a friend of a friend complaining in a shop the other day. Along the lines of:
"I don't really need another pair of shoes, but they are so cute. And I really wanted to wear them to work to show the other girls. But my credit card is over it's limit so I'll put it on the emergency card instead."
So she buys the shoes she does not need. That she cannot afford. So she can look good at work. Since I know this person as an acquaintance, it stuck me as truly silly, since her work is not a dress up place. Wearing pants without holes is an achievement for some.... And heels are fun, but not so good for the standing and the walking of the 8 hours....
This is the same person that complains bitterly that she has no savings, and is sick of living in a share house and wants her own place.
