More Publishing Talk

Sep 01, 2008 23:58

So, here's my timeline based on my last (unnecessarily long, GOD can he talk) conversation with Batman.

- Review his notes, decide what will be edited and what will not be (1 day)
- Make edits (3 weeks?)
- Reread manuscript, rework what needs to be reworked from there (1 week?)
- Rework submission package (redo query letter, write synopsis, edit synopsis)
- Print stuff at Kinko's, spend a princely sum on paper and printing
- Do mailers, resubmit to certain agents, find 5 new agents for submission

Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm probably going to be dead to the world for a long damn while. My revised goal is to have representation by the beginning of 2009. Though I do have just under 4 years before I have to make good on one of my "if I don't get published by 30" threats. I'd really rather not do one of them at all, as I'm cool with being alive, and I'm not too jazzed to be going back to Japan either.
