As some of you know, 2011 has been a rather horrible year for me so far (bar my job, which is just as time-consumming as it's fantastic), but this summer proved that there can be a silver lining in every cloud.
See, I went to see Much ado about nothing on July 14, with my friend
chandramas , and we had a blast (the play was hilarious and totally worth it - Catherine and David have such chemistry on stage, and they're both fantastic actors). Then the next evening, we went to the stage door, made friends with a couple of people there while we waited for the end of the play, and when Catherine and David came out, I got lucky enough to have my picture with David!
You know, I've always been very reluctant to meet famous people I admire, mostly because I tend to idealise them in my mind and I'm scared they're not going to be as nice to their fans as I hoped... well, I was wrong to be worried: both Catherine and David were absolutely adorable. See, I was wearing a wrist brace and a sling around my arm because I've been having a very painful tendonitis for three months. And so at the stage door, since people behind me were pushing rather hard, Catherine was sweet and asked them not to do that because my arm was hurt (she actually thought I had a broken arm). Then David asked how I'd hurt myself, so I explained and he was a complete sweetheart about it. When I asked him if I could have a picture with him, he said "Of course you can! Where's your camera?" and took the pose with me while my new friend Gabi took the pic.
I walked back to the hotel in a daze and I'm still on my cloud about the whole thing, even two weeks later! All I can say is, those three days in London were totally MADE OF SQUEE!!!!!
