Something I Wanted to Share

Jan 04, 2011 14:04

I received this poem a little while ago and have no idea who wrote it but somehow it seems to fit my mood today so I decided to share it with all of you.

Forgetter Be Forgotten?

My forgetter's getting better,
But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke

For when I'm 'here' I'm wondering
If I really should be 'there'
And, when I try to think it through,
I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say 'what am I here for?'
I wrack my brain, but all in vain!
A zero, is my score.

At times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
Is, generally, me!

When shopping I may see someone,
Say 'Hi' and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
I ask myself, 'who the hell was that?

Yes, my forgetter's getting better
While my rememberer is broke,
And it's driving me plumb crazy
And that isn't any joke.

As to what I've been doing lately - knitting socks and finishing up projects.  I want to clear as many Works In Progress (WIPs) as possible so I don't have unfinished projects hanging over my head.

In November and December I took a sock knitting class and since Dec 7th I have knit three pair of socks and have been having a lot of fun learning and then making sure I don't forget the techniques I learned.  A couple more pair and I should have the techniques down solid.  I find that the older I get the longer it takes to really grasp and keep a new technique but I'm just stubborn enough to persist until I get it!  Guess that is why the above poem appeals to me at the moment.

Below is a picture of my first pair of socks.  Just wanted to share them with you.

Hugs and happy stitching,

Kae
