I hated this episode so fucking much I can't even.
They broke so much of the book's lore: the way the ways work, the oathrod, severing Mat from the dagger (and what happened to it? Or did they just leave it behind for anybody to pick up?), Mat not going, Liandrin having a fellow in northharbor, what the Eye of the World actually is. Moriane having the fucking whatever that portal was in her room -- which was clearly "let's have an FX scene just to have an FX scene -- that'll look so cool!"
the drama felt really contrived, and there was so much "captain has engaged the plot device" level writing.
The lighting was gawdfucking awful. The scoring was intrusive AF.
And you could so clearly tell that Moriaine's dress zipped up the back. Rewatch the scene where she's on the balcony overlooking the city, and you can see the bottom metal fastening of the zipper catching the lighting.
And again, we are back to the Aes Sedai having one damn dress/set of clothes, though we know this episode took place over the course of a few days. So gorram cheap I can't even.
And finally, not once have we heard the jingle from the bells in Alanna's hair, though we should. What a lameass oversight.
