The numbers behind food stamps

Sep 20, 2013 15:24

Over 46 Million People in the United States are on Food Stamps

900,000 food stamp recipients are veterans. According to reports, an estimated 900,000 veterans receive monthly food stamp benefits. One study claims that 133,000 veterans would lose benefits if the current House bill were to become law.
(Because, y'know, to hell with those who served their nation. Why should we give anything to those quitters who left the military?)

The two greatest increases in food stamp recipients during the last three years occurred after two natural disasters: Hurricane Isaac in 2011 and the Alabama tornadoes in 2013.
(Frikkin Freeloaders, wanting food after their houses were demolished by natural disasters and all their worldly goods flung to the four winds.)

(BTW, don't slip and fall into my sarchasm.)
