Happy day
Well, yesterday started out great! We went to some friends' house to help them move furniture around to get their new king-sized bed in. Then we went to the Valley to do some random shopping. Went to Michaels to get beads to make a bracelet for a friend in Japan, went to Linens and Things to get sheets for the new king-sized bed for my friend, then headed home while the boys (Dan and David) brought the bed home. After setting everything up, I was talking to Lynn about Courtney's wedding. I asked her, "Lynn, you are a good bargain shopper. Do you have any idea where I can get a really inexpensive but pretty formal gown that isn't black, red or royal blue?" She responded with, "Is purple ok?" Well, since I didn't see a problem with purple, I nodded and she got up from the bed and walked into her closet/craft room (yes, the closet is that big) and pulls out this totally awesome navy and purple velvet and chiffon gown. "I think this is your size, try it on." She says to me. So I do. It fits perfectly! I now have a dress for Courtney's wedding! So I rejoice a bit then I find out that I am getting a $400 check from the government for the child tax credit. I thought we had already gotten it for some reason, but I was wrong. Two good things in one day!!! We play a game of settlers, have dinner then step outside and see how nasty the sky looks. We decide to head home. We make it most of the way before it starts to rain, but boy does it come down hard!! We get home to find that we have no electricity! Not only that, but we have a small flood in our basement near the back door. There is no water coming from the crack that we just recently had fixed, but we have a nice little lake in the carpet. I left messages for management and we are going to go talk to them at 1pm when the office opens. We walk the dog in the rain, pack up, and head to my in-laws house for the evening. I didn't get much sleep last night. The bed was uncomfortable and there was only this overly fluffy body pillow for Dan and I to share. I finally fall asleep around 6:30, only to be woken up at 8am to go to breakfast. After breakfast we came home to a house with electricity!! We have plans to go see friends this afternoon for dinner, then our weekend is over and the monotony that is the week will start. I really need a nap.
