BBQ and Emergency Rooms

So we go to a friend's house for a bbq today and we are all having a great time. All of us adults are sitting outside on the front porch talking for a few and the kids are inside playing. We can see them all, nothing major going on. Chris goes inside for a sec, as does Jamie to check on everyone and then they both come back outside. Less than three minutes later, the kids are screaming (one of them louder than the other) so Chris heads back inside to see what is going on, since it is her daughter that is screaming the loudest. Less than a minute later, Chris comes back outside and says, "You need to come inside, the dog is dead." This, ofc, leads to mass panic as the lot of us try to all cram through the front door at the same time. We all get in to see Chris walking out of the bathroom with her tiny little chihuahua wrapped in a blue towel, it's eyes open, but one bloodied up. Definitely not dead. Chris, Jamie and I pile in the car and head to the animal hospital after taking a few minutes to talk to the kids and see what happened. Apparently, Jamie and Chris had both seen the dog out and had told the kids to put it away (It stays in the bathtub, as to not be kicked by one of the young children.). They then couldn't decide who was going to put the dog back, and took turns doing so, accidentally throwing or dropping the poor dog a few times. So we go to the animal hospital with the poor, quivering dog and he gets checked out. He is ok, save a few bruises and a hell of a scare. They gave him a shot and some eye drops and sent him home. What a way to spend a bbq... and we were supposed to play Settlers of Catan tonight... ;)
