a brief baby update

So, we've successfully made it to 14 weeks. This is a very positive thing -after 13 weeks the risk of miscarriage drops dramatically. There's also less risk related to various medications. We're more than 1/3 of the way through.

We've had ultrasounds and tests and lots of poking, prodding, and needles. Lots of needles.

There are ultrasound pics at http://sprog.quicksilverdragon.com along with specific baby updates and registries and stuff like that.

I also appear to be past most of the morning sickness (thank the gods), though there are still a few things I just can't eat. Omega 3 tablets were a problem; testing those again this week still leaves me violently ill, so I think we'll stop experimenting with known issue foods for now. Yogurt makes me ill. Italian sausage is really disgusting - though other types of sausage are ok. Strong smelling fish is not good, nor are hard boiled eggs. And granola bars - I mean, I've eaten one recently, but they taste like cardboard, and I just can't fathom why I ate them before.

Other than that, we're slowly picking away at setting up the registry lists, and contemplating hitting a maternity resale shop this weekend, because OMG are maternity clothes expensive, especially considering they're something you'll wear 6 months or less.

And have I mentioned that yesterday it was (barely) warm enough for a walk, so I walked to the store for a few things last night? I really prefer my walks outside to in the shopping malls or on the treadmill, and I'm hoping this weather holds for a while - maybe I can get a few more walks in this weekend.
